Welcome!
I continue to be awed and fascinated by the landscape around me.
Since I moved to the mountains east of Albuquerque, I have come to appreciate the beauty of New Mexico even more.
I am dedicated to realism as a painter.
I paint outdoors and from models whenever I can, and practice washes and color mixing to develop some measure of control of this difficult medium of watercolor. Part of my love for watercolor is that it can achieve such a rich luminosity and glow, thus suits itself well to portraits, flowers, and glowing skin tones.
Although my favorite artists are still Elisabeth Vigee-LeBrun, Jessie Wilcox-Smith (a nineteenth-century illustrator), Mary Cassatt, John Singer Sargent, and Edgar Degas, I also admire the lovely paintings of William-Adolphe Bouguereau.
