Beginning & Intermediate Watercolor and Drawing

THIS CLASS IS NOT CURRENTLY BEING OFFERED. The 8-week course covers many watercolor techniques starting with an understanding of how watercolor paints and paper behave, and use of basic washes such as flat, graded, and blending methods. There is an emphasis on drawing, perspective, values and composition. Part of the drawing instruction includes classical drawing methods and those based on Betty Edward’s well-known book, “Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain”.

Katherine Gauntt is an accomplished watercolor artist and has won many awards for her paintings. She is a Signature member of the New Mexico Watercolor Society. She has been in juried shows including Masterworks, the Miniature Art Society of Florida, and the New Mexico State Fair. She also exhibits at the New Mexico Arts and Crafts Fair. She is currently showing her artwork at Amapola Gallery in Old Town Albuquerque (AmapolaGallery.com), open 7 days a week from 10 am to 5 pm, phone 242-4311.
